Understanding vocational teachers’ professional development in work placement: learning goals, activities, and outcomes

This study provides an insight into the professional development of vocational teachers within context work placement, a continuing programme situated in industry. Learning goals, activities, and outcomes have been described based on teachers’ learning experiences this programme. We conducted interviews with 27 secondary from China 5 these participants completed digital logs. Seven categories activities were identified, which others without interaction most common categories, while mentoring was more frequently perceived as important category than others. Moreover, there 8 types goals 12 reported. The preferred teaching working knowledge skills their beliefs attitudes respect to placement. Intentions for practice concentrated school, collegial, classroom levels. Regarding relationship between outcomes, connected all or almost outcomes. occupational generated identified except reflecting. Limitations theoretical practical implications are discussed.
